Wordless Wednesday

He is watching you work quietly, but he's really shy and skittish.  If you start talking or moving around, he'll get scared and have to leave your desk.  So keep it down and stay focused!!!

I snagged two bags of these Quiet Critters on clearance at Hobby Lobby in August right before school started.  SCORE!!!!

What do you do to get your wiggly, chatty kids to work quietly?  I'd love to hear your ideas!!!

Also, tonight is the last night for my big Chunky Monkey sale- don't miss it!

I am linking up with Miss DeCarbo for the linky~ check it out!

  1. What a cute idea! I may have to try this with my chatty Kinders who have a bit of Cabin Fever this week! I use a "Blurt Chart." When someone forgets to raise a hand and blurts out, I simply cross a number off the chart. The number left showing at the end of the day is the number of minutes we will add to our recess. If all numbers are crossed off we have a little quiet time out. It is a great way to silently handle outbursts, encourage team work, and give group rewards that are fair (the quiet kids enjoy the moment of peace during the time out if it has been an especially noisy day).

  2. I use Whole Brain Teaching and the Super Improvers Wall. They earn stars for improving in any way, school work, behavior, etc. All I have to say is I think "Johnny" is going to earn a star he is working so quietly and like magic all the others want to do the same. It is amazing what they will do sometimes to earn a little star on their card.

    Luv My Kinders
